Member Mail "Swiss Special"

Dear Colleagues

In an elaborate negotiation process, we were able to reach an agreement with Swiss to secure the company and jobs after the crisis.

CLA with Temporary Saving Measures

The agreement for the ground staff, who are subject to the CLA, stipulates temporary saving measures. We have already presented the details in the "Swiss Special" member mail delivered on December 28, 2020. The full agreement has been signed by all parties and comes into effect as soon as the members have given their approval.

With these measures, the Swiss ground staff contributes to safeguarding jobs and future working conditions at the current level. Both the "Covid bonus" payable after the crisis and the prolonged termination date for the CLA 2018 at the end of December 2026 provide stability and security for employees.

Informative and Interactive Events with Registration

SEV-GATA stands for transparency. In addition to the "Swiss Special" member mail mentioned above, the full agreementis available on our website.

I will also present the results to you in a video message of approximately 8 minutes.

On Thursday, February 11, 2021, we will hold face-to-face events in Zurich. "Meeting slots" of 90 minutes each are available for Swiss employees in the "Flugfeld" at the "Adlerhorst" break room in Werft 2 and at the "Obstgarten" ("Zermatt" Haus Charlie).

On Monday, February 15, 2021, and on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, there is the opportunity to participate in online events

These informative and interactive events are open to all Swiss employees who are governed by the CLA ground staff. It is mandatory to sign up by Monday, February 8, 2021, via the following link. The registration formalities must be completed in full to ensure effective health protection and a correct voting process. When registering, it is important to take due account of operational needs.

Confirmation of participation will be sent on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, including replacement dates in case of overbooking. The required meeting time will be treated as working time.

The above-mentioned meetings will be held in German. If there is a need for meetings in English or French, get together and give us corresponding feedback stating the interested participants so that we can make appropriate offers.

Ballot Vote: Procedure

The ballot vote contains a single request:

  •  Acceptance of the "temporary Covid saving measures": YES or NO

All members of SEV-GATA who work for Swiss are entitled to vote. Participants who are entitled to vote in the face-to-face events can cast their votes directly on site. All other eligible voters will receive a personal voting link on February 22, 2021, at the email address stored at SEV-GATA. This link can be used for one single vote. Voting is possible within 48 hours.

SEV-GATA directed the negotiations with great dedication and the committee carefully discussed and checked both interim and final results. They concluded that this is the best possible result for our members and unanimously recommend accepting the "temporary Covid saving measures".
