CLA 2027 Swiss Ground Staff:
Negotiation Results Are Still Out of Reach!
Esteemed colleagues,
Last Thursday, 30 April 2026, the Sounding Board (SB) Swiss CLA 2027 met for a full-day session.
The SEV-GATA negotiating delegation, consisting of Cédric Steiner, Patrick Arnold, Lawrence Yip and myself, reports that negotiations with Swiss are being conducted in a formally correct and respectful manner.
While we are asserting the need for clear improvements in line with our list of demands, Swiss and Lufthansa are announcing painful cost-cutting programmes. After the second round of negotiations, no truly satisfactory results are yet in sight. Following the interim report from the four-member SEV-GATA delegation, the Sounding Board (SB) has decided to launch a petition. Every employee should have the opportunity to make a statement with their signature. This is also a great opportunity for non-members to become part of our movement.
Members of the SB will approach you over the next three weeks with the petition so that you can clearly express your expectations with your signature.
The petition text reads as follows:
Basta – it’s our turn now!
It is true that the airline business operates in uncertain times. In all previous crises, we have supported the company and even accepted adjustments to the CLA as a sacrifice in times of crisis. In recent years, Swiss has generated hundreds of millions in profits.
However, conditions for employees have hardly improved in recent years, while the cost of living including housing, health insurance and more has risen sharply.
The CLA 2027 for ground staff must finally bring tangible improvements. The interim report from the second round of negotiations gives cause for concern.
As an employee of Swiss, I confirm with my signature: We have waited long enough. “Basta” (enough) of being fobbed off and made to wait. We need tangible improvements in the Swiss CLA 2027 and we need them now.
Are you willing to help collect signatures from your colleagues?
Or would you like to organise a meeting? Get in touch with a member you know. The following people are members of the SB: Patrick Arnold, Alexandre Beroud, Alexandra Brugger, Beat Buri, Philipp Hackenschmidt, Gilles Ducourthial, Dominik Fischer, Katie Hertoge, Yohanna Hodapp Mondragon, Martin Höfler, Nicolas Marchand, Dennis Martens, Sabrina Müller, Alain Ochs, Joaquim Limede Silva Pinto, Sven Schäfle, Robert Skiba, Cédric Steiner, Lawrence Yip.
Your signature counts and will help improve your working conditions in the Swiss CLA 2027!
