Swiss: Petition presented to CEO:
Final stretch of CLA negotiations?
Dear colleagues,
The early summer months offer no respite. The world continues to be unpredictable, and the impact of global political developments on the aviation industry remains difficult to foresee. Experience shows, however, that air travel remains a growth market. Even when current events affect prices and destinations, the industry repeatedly returns remarkably quickly to a growth trajectory – the number of people with both the desire and the means to travel continues to increase.

Swiss: Petition Presented to CEO – Final Stretch of CLA Negotiations?
The CLA negotiations with Swiss are not progressing without resistance. Yesterday, a SEV-GATA delegation presented approximately 600 signatures collected through the petition “Basta – Now It’s Our Turn!”. Within less than a month, one third of the affected employees signed the SEV-GATA petition, which states:
“It is true that the airline industry operates in uncertain times. In every previous crisis, we have supported the company and accepted amendments to the CLA as our contribution to overcoming difficult circumstances. In recent years, Swiss has generated hundreds of millions in profits.
However, employees’ working conditions have hardly improved, while the costs of housing, health insurance and many other essentials have risen dramatically.
The 2027 CLA for ground staff must finally deliver substantial improvements. The interim report following the second round of negotiations gives cause for concern.
By signing this petition, I confirm as a Swiss employee: We have waited long enough. Basta (enough) with delays and waiting. Meaningful improvements in the Swiss CLA 2027 are needed now.”
Jens Fehlinger received the message personally. Our press release was made public yesterday. Another round of negotiations is currently underway. We remain confident that we will be able to present our members with an acceptable outcome for the ballot vote.
CLA negotiations for our members at Swissport Zurich will also begin shortly. Preparations are already underway.
