1 May 2026: We focus on CLA negotiations in aviation!
Dear colleagues,
The slogan and key themes of this year’s 1 May events seem almost tailored to the aviation sector:
«Against isolation – defend jobs and wages!»
Jobs in aviation are under pressure. Even companies generating substantial profits are launching cost-cutting programmes and job reduction initiatives.
The so-called “chaos initiative” aims to isolate Switzerland and jeopardise the free movement of persons – a cornerstone of our prosperity.
At national level, there are attempts to undermine cantonal minimum wages, and the existing protection of “Sunday as a day of rest” is being called into question.
While armed conflicts are causing unimaginable suffering for those involved, they are also leading to supply and security challenges in aviation.
At this very moment, we are engaged in CLA negotiations at Swiss (detailed information for our Swiss members will follow shortly in a special member mail). CLA negotiations at Swissport Zurich will follow in the summer.
With a cool head, strong commitment and a clear position, we must work towards the best possible outcome. The level of member involvement and pressure required will become apparent. What matters now is that we stand together to defend your job and ensure that improvements in the CLA better reflect the value of your work. We remain fully committed.

New Trusted Representative at Swiss
