LTSW to end in disaster
Dear Colleagues,
Now it’s definite: LTSW is closing down. 60 employees are affected. Thanks to all sorts of efforts and the intervention of the union 29 staff will be taken over by Swiss. Nine of the remaining 31 persons concerned are said to have found a follow-up solution. So there will be actually 22 dismissals.
There are various reasons for this disaster. Wrong assessments on the part of the management, liberalised and globalised environment, unsuccessful company strategy as well as the currency situation may have been just a few of the reasons.
Despite the missing CLA we were able to reach that the social plan will be applied. Also we really need to make use of the “hardship fund” in cases of difficult situations.
LTSW assured us that it would stick by its social responsibility to the end. We expect the same from Swiss and the Lufthansa group.
