Professional protection
As a member of SEV you’re entitled to have legal advice/professional protection according to the regulations of SEV-professional protection.
You may claim professional protection in following situations:
- Conflicts at work / with your employer
- Problems in case of illness, accident, retirement and invalidity
- Disturbances and hazards of rail traffic or public transport
- Disputes over cost-sharing to compensate for the damage
- Disputes in legal issues of civil law and liability
- Incidents at work with third persons while carrying out your job
- Discrepancies with social insurances (Suva, IV, health insurance, unemployment insurance)
- Legal consequences in road accidents during work or on the direct way to work
SEV determines what kind of legal protection is granted. The request is granted either by the intervention of a union secretary (male or female) or by the assistance of a legal counsel (male of female) appointed by SEV.
Personal- and motorist’s legal protection
The SEV multi-legal protection is the ideal complement for the leisure- and private sector of the SEV-professional protection.
The SEV multi-legal insurance covers in particular:
- Personal legal protection
- Motorist’s legal protection
- Tenant‘s legal protection
- Consumer‘s legal protection
- Owner‘s legal protection
- Insurance benefits for victims of violent crimes
- General counseling in all aspects of law
The SEV multi-legal protection is not only valid for members but also for their partners living in the same household, as well as for their unmarried / single or not gainfully employed children. Today, approximately one third of all SEV-members benefit from this combined motorist’ s - and personal legal protection.
The SEV multi-legal protection can compete with any other legal expense insurance. It’s available to all SEV-members at the unbeatable price of CHF 78.00 a year. Apprentices in their initial vocational training are not paying any insurance costs.
