Dear colleagues
While price increase is low, the aviation industry is still launching economy programmes and a skill shortage is looming, it’s time to enter into wage talks.
21 September 2013 Demo
Nearly 15.000 people appeared at the trade unions’ demo on Bundesplatz in Berne. A clear sign was set against wage dumping and doubtful pensions (insecure provisions for one’s old age). At the same time it was publicly demonstrated that this year adjusted wage negotiations must be held. This was the successful start of a committed wage autumn.
2013 Wage negotiations – Swiss
After preliminary talks the first 2013 pay round with Swiss will take place on 30 October 2013. Being aware of the low price increase, but regarding the continuing increase in productivity and the blocked adjustment for inflation, ground staff unions made following demands on Swiss: a general 1,5% pay rise for all staff members, minimum CHF 75,- and 1,5% increase of wage scales. CLA Negotiations – Swiss
Apart from the wage talks we’ll have to be prepared to negotiate further amendments to the collective labour agreement (CLA) with Swiss. This aspect will be included in the wage talks with Swiss, too.
Peko Replacement Elections
With the “silent election“ of our member Michael Rangott, a worthy successor will follow in Jeannette Böhler’s footsteps. We wish Michael lots of luck and success for his future at Swiss staff commission.

2013 Member Recruitement Drive
Come on to the final spurt with our interesting recruitement drive: If you win two new members you’ll get an additional writing case on top of the Fr 50,00 bonus per member. For every fifth newly acquired member the prize will be doubled, i.e. for five new members Fr 500.00 (instead of Fr 250,-), for 10 newly acquired members you’ll get Fr. 1'000.00 (instead of Fr. 500.00) and for 15 new members Fr. 1’500.00 (instead of Fr. 750.00). You see canvassing for new members is worth it – not only for you personally but also for strengthening our bargaining position!
