Swiss Technics-Special: Shift Schedules for TMH and TMG – Agreement Reached

As a result of the work in the taskforce, we have reached an agreement to ensure existing shift times fulfil the new SECO requirements. SEV-GATA will inform employees on site and members will be called to vote on the agreement.

Dear Colleagues,

The time of uncertainty is over. The taskforce with Swiss was able to find a solution in numerous meetings, workshops, and discussions: a system based on the 5:5 model, which has always been our goal. Here are the details:

Shift system: 5:5

Start and end times (TMH): 8.30 p.m. – 06.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m. – 07.30 a.m.

Nighttime bonus (TMG/TMH): 20% between 12 – 7 a.m.

Training day (all departments): (New) For refreshers relevant for the license, generally 1 day every 2 years, can be completed on site or remote (individual choice).

Additional Days (TMG/TMH): 10 per year – new name: “compensation days”

Implementation provisions:

  • Renaming of additional days to “compensation days”
  • (New) Pro-rata reduction of compensation days due to longer training sessions
  • New regulation on scheduling of compensation days – details are yet to be fully defined

After the SECO decision and the first workshops in spring, different proposals were on the table, such as a 6:4 model or a significantly higher number of compensation days within the 5:5 model. Thanks to the persistence of our colleagues in the taskforce, your daily high-level performance at work, an the results of the survey, we had many winning arguments to reach this result. This was a joint effort.

SEV-GATA will provide on-site information in the break room as follows:

  • Sunday, September 21 – 8 p.m. / TMH
  • Monday, September 22 – 8 p.m. / TMH
  • Friday, September 26 – 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. / TMG

Voting process TMH/TMG:

A voting process on the agreement reached will take place between September 29 and October 3. All SEV-GATA members working at TMH and TMG may take part in this online vote. The questions will be sent by e-mail.

With this result, we now have a solution for 2026.
Whether it will remain in place beyond 2026 will be clarified in the 2026 CLA negotiations.

We sincerely thank you for your trust and patience.
We look forward to meeting you at one of the above-mentioned information events.

For any questions in advance, we remain at your disposal.

Best wishes,
SEV-GATA, your union in the aviation industry!
