Technics Shift Models: Letter of Protest

Esteemed colleagues,

We are facing major challenges in the development of new night shift plans with Swiss. To our dismay, we have received feedback from staff indicating that the responsible Head of Maintenance of Swiss Technics took it upon herself to:

  • exert pressure on employees,
  • question their representation by the unions, and
  • inform affected employees in meetings that she prefers finding a solution without union representatives.
  • Furthermore, members report a perceived threat suggesting that the new system might be enforced even if it leads to layoffs.

With a protest letter to Claus Bauer (Vice President Technical Fleet Management), SEV-GATA has expressed to Swiss that:

  • this approach by the Head of Maintenance is clearly unacceptable,
  • we expect Swiss to change the leadership in the taskforce,
  • we are fully committed to collaborating and finding an acceptable solution together – provided that Swiss demonstrates the same willingness through their actions.

The full letter can be found here.

Don’t forget: Take part in the SEV-GATA survey now and speak your mind.

SEV-GATA stands by your side – for a life of dignity and for your future at Swiss!

Best regards,

SEV-GATA, your union in the aviation industry

Philipp Hadorn, President & SEV Union Secretary
