  • Swissport: preserving the future

Dear Colleagues

2019 marks an anniversary year for SEV. Shortly after the General Strike of 1918, transport workers unionised across different companies. Today, employees in the railway, navigation, bus, tourism, and aviation sectors all unite under the roof of SEV. It is thanks to this broad commitment that working conditions lie above average in many branches of the transport sector. However, this is not the case everywhere, and there is still a lot of work to do.

Swiss: Peko by-elections

Our Peko member Michael Rangott will go into early retirement per 1 April 2019. For this reason, there will be by-elections for electoral circles 2 and 3 (Geneva and Basel). The nomination period runs from 1 February until 15 February 2019. Interested members of SEV-GATA should please contact me until 11 February 2019 so that we can nominate you.

Swissport: Preserving the future

There will be a regular flow of information concerning HNA’s intention to sell Swissport. Generally, Swissport is still growing in Switzerland. SEV-GATA will continue to advocate for job security and a reasonable workload.

Save the date: The SEV-GATA General Meeting will take place on Thursday, 23 May 2019 (late afternoon / evening). More information is to follow.

Dear colleague, ever since 1918 we know for a fact that it is only by united efforts that we are able to improve working and living conditions. With your commitment and your willingness to convince your colleagues of joining SEV-GATA, you can help build your union’s future success and thus shape your work environment according to your own desire! More information can be found on www.sev-gata.ch.

Thank you for your loyalty!

Kind regards
