Dear Colleagues

SEV-GATA GM on 23 October, 2020: Reminder – Register Immediately
As a reminder: Our Anniversary General Meeting (AGM) is happening on 23 October , 2020, 5.15 p.m. in the new “Lindt Home of Chocolate” in Kilchberg (ZH).

All members received an invitation in the mail and were also informed through our member mails. Get your registration in immediately via email .

The registration deadline is on 29 September.

New members can download the invitation after submitting the declaration of membership and register by email in due time.

The AGM is a great opportunity for members of SEV-GATA to exchange information about the current situation across companies.

Swiss: Savings for Reserves and Breaking Agreements?
In early September 2020, Swiss asserted they had to reduce structural personnel costs by 15% to reduce their need for governmental support and requested a savings package. Shortly after our protest meeting, Swiss announced the following in an internal communication regarding the federal financial injection: "First of all, it should be made clear that the federal government is not to blame for the cost-cutting measures. On the contrary: Without their promised support, Swiss would be unable to survive the existential crisis of the entire aviation industry caused by Covid-19." In addition, Swiss did not comply with the agreed notice periods for short-time work (technical areas) once again.

Together with our "sister-unions", we intervened against this contradictory and trust-undermining behavior with a protest letter and demanded a crisis meeting with their management.

Swissport Geneva: Combat Measures Following Backstab Attack
Swissport Geneva demands savings of up to 25%. (Details have already been communicated to those affected.) On 21 September, 2020, our members returned this offensive demand to the sender and decided to take combat measures.

Swissport ZRH: Negotiations Continue
Negotiations with Swissport Zurich are also challenging. (Details have already been communicated to those affected.) After the savings package, which was rejected by the members, Swissport Zurich fulfills our demand for transparency to ensure that temporary measures to bridge a proven emergency situation can be examined. Evidence must be provided in October.

Not a member of SEV-GATA yet? Now is the time!
Everyone can have a say, but only members of SEV-GATA are actually heard.

Are your colleagues already members of SEV-GATA? Now is THE best and most pressing opportunity to convince them of a membership with us. This is the only way for them to always be up to date and for us to become stronger together – and in the end, they get to control their own working conditions.

For every newly recruited member, we will pay you CHF 50.00 to thank you (declaration of accession).

SEV-GATA, working together for our members in aviation!

Kind regards,

Philipp Hadorn, President
